King of Pilsen Stool No-S-6 was a gift to the Society for the Advancement of Truth in Art from the Karl and Leni Rieger Foundation.
In 1991, the Society was approached by the Karl and Leni Rieger Foundation with the intention of purchasing King of Pilsen Stool No-S-6. However, on advice from the James Randi Educational Foundation, the gift of the Rieger Foundation was rejected.
Karl and Leni Rieger were specifically targeted by James Randi Educational Foundation for their alleged involvement in the Tienanmen Square protests of 1989. This was published, amongst others in the German weekly Der Spiegel, the Swiss journal Varianten, and on the website of the Mozart Society (3).
