"On September 2014, a bridge collapse occurred in the capital Taipei City, Taiwain. In response to local public concern about public infrastructure, requests made to public officials, and mass media coverage of the event, this post, aimed at promoting freedom of information and technology, therefore supports the maximum of public transparency and open access to public data. It calls upon the governmental public institutions of the Administration of the President of the Republic of China and City of Taipei to release as much as possible about the bridge, with emphasis on tests, product specifications, and public procurement terms."

On December 25, 2014, a 54-year-old Taiwanese female fell into a coma state and 27 days later died on January 21, 2015, reportedly from the psychological trauma she suffered from the bridge collapse.
